Rachel's Chaos

In glancing at Rachel's self-portrait, she is looking at the viewers with a claim eyes. These gentle eyes are being surrounded by the chaos of her flowers on each side of her. These wild stems have these crazy lines that must show how busy her world could be. I like how she is centered and not off to the side. I also love the wildest of the flowers. As I look more and more at the flowers, it looks the wildest of the flowers could represent Rachel’s personality.

In a self-portrait the photographer wants to give the viewer a glimpse of their own world to others. They want to portray their dirty laundry to the world like a sitcom on television. Rachel’s photo is like a sitcom show. It is the title opener to “The Rachel Show.” It gives me a look into her world of chaos and wildest. Even though her eyes are claim, her wildest comes out from the flowers. I like how the photo is not dark. There is a lot of white and light in this photo. She did a great job in giving the room this whiteness instead of the usual gray. The whiteness shows her innocents and purity in the photo. This balances out the craziness in her world and give a sense of clarity is coming around the counter soon.

To Communicate

In a photograph I am looking at the meaning of what is trying to tell the views. The image could be telling a story about anything the viewer see. It the imagination of the viewer that roams as they look at the photo trying to pull out their own perspective of it. The photographer him/herself, I think, is looking approval from the views to see if they understands what the photographer was thinking.
To communicate a photographer might use their emotion. In looking at a photo the emotions can bleed happiness, sadness, Anger, or desire. All these emotions causes me to believe that photographers are good liars. I have taken several photos and in comments i get opinions that had nothing to do with how I felt that day or how the weather was outside. It was just images I saw that look interesting to the naked eye. I just take it all in saying "Yes or yea that what I was thinking, too."

Pricey Pricey New York

This class is very pricey! In the sense that I have to buy a lot of supplies to keep up with my class. Right now I am broke ! but I am finding a way to buy for photo paper and films for the last assignment. In all the money problems I am really liking the class more than I thought I would. Just take photos of people and of things I see around my area in New York. I mention New York in ever post. Its a bad habit but I love where I come from and I find New York way more interesting than Boston. In traveling in Pricey! NEW YORK, I take advanage of the things people in Easton do not get to see. It does not have to be the ghetto where I live at but the goodness of the city. Its buildings its parks and its landmarks is what makes New York City

Light and Shadow

In doing these rolls I was looking for a natural lighting from the sun. I felt that the using a lamp or the lighting from my room was too artificial. Into the streets in New York I saw as the sun shadowed the buildings and give a geometric shapes on the sidewalks. I liked to see how the sun moves across the sky. One hour it was on one side and in the next three hours it was on another. It was tricky finding a time to take pictures. I used the early mornings when the sun was rising and the late afternoon toward sunsets to take the pictures. There it was easier to take photos because that was the shadow I was looking for. I did not like this assignment as much because it was more looking for what time to take the picture then how to take the picture. In processing the photos was worse trying to get the filter just right. In the end my photos came out really good and I was proud of my work.
